Just a cute picture!

Snapped this one day while the kids were playing in the sprinklers and Lahna laid down on the sidewalk to take a break. I love her reflection in the water!

Look Who's 3!

I cannot believe that my little caboose is now 3 years old! Look how tiny and sweet he was...

...and now he's 3. THREE! Seriously, I am having a hard time swallowing that one. Sometime in the middle of the night he had crawled in bed with us and this morning I woke up before he did and just stared at him long and hard trying to figure out where the time has gone and how did he get to be so big. He is such a sweet little guy, making everyone laugh all the time with the funny little things he says and does. I can't imagine our family without him.

Anyway, it was a great day, all about William and his favorite pal, Mickey Mouse. We had Mickey pancakes, he got Mickey presents, had Mickey chicken Nuggets, and a Mickey cake. It was heaven for Mickey's biggest fan!

We also spent a few hours at Mojave Narrows playing at the park with the water toys and having a yummy picnic.

Did you notice that he has about as much hair now as when he was born?  He had a little fun with some scissors! Silly 2 year old. I'm sure now that he's THREE, he will never do anything like that again. HAHA!

Last day of school

Today was the last day of school for the girls and this year it holds a little more meaning than in past years. They will not be returning to public schools next year. Instead, we will be trying our hands at homeschooling. YIKES! I know, it's kind-a crazy, but we are all really excited about it. We thought long and hard and prayed over the decision and feel like this is the right thing for our family right now.

Anyhow, back to the last day of school... we surprised the girls with a slip and slide waiting for them when they got home. It's amazing how much fun $5 can provide. We then headed to the library for a free show. Afterward, it was back home for dinner, dessert, and a movie.

 Summer vacation here we come!!!

Happy Daddy's Day!

David is at church with half the kids and I am home with the other half. Lahna is sick and William is just hanging out.

I hope all the wonderful father's out there are having a great day, you deserve it.

I am grateful for David and the amazing dad that he is. I am also grateful for my dad, and my dad-in-law. They are all 3 great men and I am one lucky lady to have them in my life!

(If I had a little more energy I would come up with some cool collage of the 3 of them....but you'll just have to use your imagination!)

12 years

Yesterday David and I celebrated our 12 year anniversary.  Well, maybe celebrated isn't really the word for it, but oh well. David spent the day putting our entryway back together after 2 days of painting. It doesn't sound like much, but it really was a full days work with lots of moving around a big hulking ladder.  I spent most of the day lying on the couch watching him work and feeling bad that I wasn't helping, but I have to say it looks awesome! He done good. (The last couple of days have been a bit of a set back for me.)

After dinner we left the girls in charge and hit Sonic for some buy one get one free shakes.

It has been an eventful and wonderful 12 years full of things that we had never expected, and there isn't anyone in the world that I would rather have by my side through it all. I can't wait to see what the next 12 years might bring!

An evening at the park

These pics are actually from a couple of weeks ago. The weather has been beautiful here. Perfect for loading up the bikes and scooters and heading to the park after dinner.

continued improvement

Just an update.

It's a good update though.

It has been over 3 months now since this all started, and I am doing really good!!! None of my wacky symptoms have gone away, but they have all improved so much. We still don't know what has caused all of this, just a few "possibilites", like MS or a viral infection, and of course we mustn't forget heartburn. The better I feel though the less I care.

I have been doing some cleaning, some shopping, some cooking, and other such stuff. It has been wonderful. David has even decided that maybe it IS okay if I drive a little. But just a little, he says. I love my overprotective husband. Sometimes, I think he's a little silly, but mostly I know that he really loves me and is just worried about me.

That's all folks.

Spring soccer ends

Last Saturday was the last game for Lahna's soccer and it was a blistering hot day, as you can see from how red her face is. She had fun, but when asked if we should sign her up again, she politely declined.

Love those pretty blue eyes!

Rest in Peace Pecky

My animal loving children along with the neighbor found this baby bird in the street, unable to fly. They somehow talked me into keeping it. The next morning I called animal control to find out what my options were.

1. They could come pick it up and put it to sleep.
2. We could set it outside and watch for it's mommy to come find it and take care of it.
3. Or, she gave me directions on how to feed it, but told me it was fairly tricky and might not work anyway.

Since I couldn't drive to get the necesary feeding supplies we went with option 2, setting it's little container in a place where we could watch from the house and no cats could get to it.

"Pecky" was dead within 2 hours.
Robert and William weren't too concerned, but Anna and Alahna were very upset. Anna, especially was distraught. So distraught that when she found out David had thrown "Pecky" in the trash (that was full and waiting by the curb for pick-up) she crawled in to save it.

It has now had a proper burial in our backyard, tombstone and all.

We will miss you dearly, "Pecky", the fledgling, Even though we knew you for less than 24 hours and knew that you would probably die, yes, we will miss you.

As for me, never again will I be talked into such shenanigans.
Goodness, I can't handle all this unnecessary drama.

He was kinda cute though!

confessions of a teacher's wife

I love that David is a teacher. He could have chosen a more lucrative profession had he wanted to, but he chose us instead and I love him for that. Today was David's last day of school until fall. He calls it his yearly unemployment, I call it heaven. I love that we have all summer together as a family.  Especially with all that's been going on lately, I am so happy that he will be home.

My favorite 4 year old!

I love this picture of Robert. You can see his pretty blue eyes, and that little smirk that he likes to give!

$3 well spent

At the end of last summer I stumbled across these watering cans at Walmart. They were on clearance. I got both watering cans and the base for only $3!!!! I wondered as I bought them if they were going to be pieces of junk....why else would they be so cheap? I was totally wrong. They are awesome. Just hook the hose up to the cute little base, the kids stick the watering can on top, the watering can fills with water and off they go to water the dry spots in the yard.

They were very curious about how the whole thing was working and
I love watching curious little minds at work!

Memorial Day Part Three and Four and Five

After the park we rented Planet 51 for some down time. Then the girls invited a couple of friends over and had some fun with balloons and water guns. (thanks to Grandma Force)

Then we had a scrumptious dinner with braised ribs and all sorts of good food which I didn't take any pictures of because I was too busy stuffing my face!

Memorial Day Part Two

After the pancake breakfast it was off to the park for games and fun with Daddy while mommy sat on a bench, enjoyed the fresh air and sunshine, and took some pictures.

Robert never came close enough to my bench for me to take his picture. He was too busy with t-ball, frisbee, croquette, and climbing!

Memorial Day Part 0ne

We had a great Memorial day! Partly because it is the best I have felt in almost 3 months. It started with a pancake breakfast at church.
