A prayer answered

We have been praying that I would get into the neurologist soon. My original appt wasn't until April 29, but we have been calling every morning checking for no shows or cancellations. Yesterday to our amazement I got in!!!! He has ordered an MRI, and hopefully with that we can begin to get some answers. He mentioned MS or a seizure disorder as possible causes, but we don't have enough info yet to know.  He also agreed with David that as long as I am symptomatic....NO DRIVING! So pray for my symptoms to go away before David's spring break is over.

Good news is, I was able to make it to sacrament meeting on Sunday to watch the kids sing. It felt good to be there, but I was also very self conscious of my arm acting like it has a brain of it's own. It has now been 3 weeks so I am beginning to wonder.....is it going to go away?

Last Friday there was a change of the guards as my parents returned home and David's arrived. They have been wonderful. This is the kids spring break and they are doing a great job of keeping things fun for them.

Other things going on....

-The girls began practicing for their play at the high school and are absolutely LOVING it!

-Alahna got a new pair of glasses that are so dang cute I wish I wore glasses! I have pictures and will try to get them posted.

-Robert got a new pair of "army" framehuggers. We had lost the pirate one so he is a happy patcher again. (thank goodness!)

-William has officially hit the terrible two's. The nursery leader told David that he has become quite the little bully. Whatever happened to my sweet, shy little William?

-The girls and I have been reading Little Women together and after many tears for dear Beth and much laughter from topsy-turvy  (spelling?) Jo we finished it. Now I think we will start The Goose Girl by Shannon Hale

And now it is time for me to resume my position on the couch before my head gets any worse.

We're still here!

Some of you may be wondering why the lack of posts over the last 2 weeks. Well.... some people have been very, very busy, and some have not.

David, my mom, my dad, and the chickabidees have all been the busy ones. I, on the other hand, have spent most of my time in my bed or on the couch.

I won't go into details on what's wrong because we really don't know much. Just that my body for some unknown reason has decided to rebel a little. At the beginning it was a bit scary, but things have calmed down, I am getting stronger, and we are patiently waiting for some answers.

My parents, like the true lifesavers that they are, packed their bags and hit the road as soon as I called and told them the scoop. I didn't even have to ask, they just knew they were needed and came. I love them so much for that. David loves them even more for that. My dad stayed for a few days until things were starting to calm back down, but my mom is still here working her tail off so that I can focus on getting better. She will leave on Friday to be replaced by David's parents for a week. Then we are on our own and I plan on being back to full strength by then.

I'm up and about more and more every day. Yesterday my mom even took me shopping. It was a quick trip and I was down for a few hours afterward, but oh it felt so good to get out of this house!

I just re-read this and realize that I am leaving a lot of unanswered questions, but I promise when we know more, I will tell more. And as I am getting stronger I will try to post more.

More on Wiliam

William loves to cut things. Give him a pair of scissors and some paper and he will cut it until there is nothing left but a pile of itty bitty scraps of paper.

The day this picture was taken he put all his scraps of paper in the trash when he was done. What a good little boy!

Here is another picture taken that day. He kept his little hood on most the day.

I just love those baby blues!

I heart faces-jump for joy!

I have been a follower of I heart faces for a few months, but have never entered the contests. When I saw the theme for this week though, I had to enter this picture! This kid was getting some serious air time!

Jump on over to see some great pics of people jumping for joy!

A book shared and a party given.

Robert and William sat in this chair looking at cookbooks together while I worked on the computer for about 30 minutes. What a wonderful way to pass the time!

And then later, we got out the play-dough and they "cooked up" all the good things they saw in the cookbooks and threw a surprise birthday party...for ME!!!! And I didn't even know it was my birthday so it was truly a surprise. I love being a mom!

My very own watermark

Do you see it? I love it! And I did it all by myself....well, almost all by myself. I had a great tutorial from this website. My new photography blog will be coming soon...hopefully. I still have a lot to figure out.

And isn't this little girl adorable! I babysat for a friend and of course had to take some pictures while they were playing. By the way, this beauty's mom is who told me about the website, thanks Liz!

Emerging Chefs

One of the girls favorite things to do is cook and I have been trying to give them a little more freedom in the kitchen. I admit this is not easy for me. I hate the mess and it is sometimes so hard to not step in and do it myself, but like I said, I am trying.

Last weekend they wanted to make dinner and since I didn't have anything planned yet, I took a deep breath and gave them the okay. And then, for the most part, I stayed out of the kitchen. (It is easier if I don't watch.)

They decided on meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and fruit salad. And becasue I was giving them free reign they also made kool-aid to drink (yuck...I can't stand that stuff!!) and orange floats for desert.

They put the meatloaf in these cute little individual serving size pans, which usually just sit in the back of the cupboard feeling unloved and neglected.

With the exception of the kool-aid (which everyone else liked just fine), I thought everything turned out delish!  Great job girls!

And here is Robert, watching and waiting and hoping that somehow, someway his big sisters would find something, anything for him to help with.

And they did.  What good sisters they are.

My Fruity Baby

William LOVES fruit...all kinds. We have yet to find one that he won't eat. His favorite right now is oranges! Now if I could only get him to try a vegetable!

More Disney Pics

Here are the pictures from day 2 of our trip...

We love Mickey!

I was the lucky one that got to go with the kids on the teacups. I'm not sure how, but somehow I was still able to walk afterwards!

Grandma, Lahna, William on the Jungle Cruise

William driving an autotopia car was one of the funniest things I have ever seen. It was a wild ride!

Grandma and Lahna in their car.

Robert loved the Big Thunder Railroad, and kept his hands in the air the entire time!

It was so much fun to have Grandma and Grandpa with us! Thanks for coming, we hope you had as much fun as we did!
